Elizabeth Reschke

Well hello! My name is Elizabeth Reschke, and I am the Editor-in-Chief of the Panther Prowler. I am a junior and have been in the Journalism program all three years. I became a member of the staff because I had a passion for writing and wanted to do something different. As the Editor I have reporters that work by my side along with my best friend as my assistant editor. Along with Journalism, I am apart of the soccer and cross country team, and pep club. Adelyn Hanchette

The name’s Adelyn Hanchette. I joined Journalism my sophomore year because I love to write and I thought it would be a fun class that would improve my writing skills. I ended up loving the class so I stuck with it and am now in my junior year and am Assistant Editor of the student newspaper, The Panther Prowler. Other activities I am involved in at school include cross country, soccer, Spanish club, Pep Club, and Ecology club. I enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling, spending time with friends and family, watching Glozell on Youtube, and going to Linda’s Cafe with my Editor-in-Chief, Elizabeth Reschke. Emily Twite

I’m Emily Twite and originally a song writer. New to the Panther Prowler’s Basic News class I enjoy topics that are new to me, I love digging into the minds of the interviewee to gain enough information so I’m able to share it with others. Besides being a junior in high school I enjoy being surrounded by music and singing and playing guitar. Show Choir, Glee Club, soccer, and poms are other things that inspire me and also my writing.

Crystal Monn

Hey! My name is Crystal Monn, I’m a freshman reporter on the paper, and I love to write. Usually I’m typing away on my 11 year old laptop or scribbling in random notebooks.

Things I enjoy include writing, reading, sleeping, and biking.

I’ve been told I’m weird, a spaz, a left fielder, a decent baby sitter and a complete ardvark.

I have a pet rat named Sherman and a doggie named Brittany.

Some recent things I’ve done that aren’t for the best are starting my dads 4-wheeler on fire, crashing into a tree, running over Brittany, and spazzing out in basic writing.

I’m not big on movies, but I am a fan of the Jason Series, Gremlins, Bat Man, Halloween, kid movies like Cinderella and The Trumpeter Swan.

I love, love, love, to read, especially books by many of my favorite authors. I’ve been reading books by authors from different countries and I am currently trying to submit my own work to an agency.

Ryan Huebsch

Hello, my name is Ryan Huebsch. I decided to join Advanced Journalism this year because when I was in Basic Journalism I had a great time. I also slacked in writing stories and I wanted to change that. After basic, my writing improved by a lot!

Ethan and I have a reputation in the class for being the sports guys. We do the majority of the sports stories in the class. I think what I’m most proud of last year in journalism, was getting a story in the Coulee News. It was a story about Ft. McCoy donating computers to the West Salem school district and I feel like it was one of my best pieces.

Some of the hobbies that I enjoy are fishing, hunting, playing basketball and football, golfing, playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and traveling. I love to listen to music and I listen to pretty much everything except heavy metal and rock. A lot of people think I have a weird taste for music since I like to listen to rap in one song and then switch to Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin.

Ethan Phelps

Hi, I’m Ethan Phelps. I am an Advanced Journalism Staff Reporter. I decided to be in Journalism my freshman year because; I thought it would be a fun class, and I have stuck with it since. If you haven’t heard Ryan and I are primarily the sports guys, we also occasionally write others. My proudest moment in journalism is when the La Crosse Tribune wanted me to write a story for them, about a Military Organization donating computers across the Tri-State area.

I enjoy sports such as golf, football, soccer, and basketball. I like longboarding, skateboarding, snowboarding. Basically, I enjoy all sports. I also thoroughly enjoy traveling, and hanging out with friends.

Jacob Noren

My name is Jacob Noren. I started news writing my freshman year because I wanted to improve my writing skills. After I wrote my first story I realized I really liked writing. Last year I wrote a few stories of which I was extremely proud of. I liked Basic News Writing so much that I decided to take it again this year. I’m hoping to one up my stories from last year.

Outside of writing I like to spend my free time hanging with my friends, swimming and wakeboarding (in the summer), and doing martial arts. In my free time I also spend a large amount of time working and sleeping when I have the chance. I also have what I would call an addiction to music, my favorite music is rock and alternative. My favorite bands are Rise Against and Taking Back Sunday. I also really like to read and would say I have an odd taste in books. I really like comedy books like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Zombie Survival Guide, and How to Survive a Horror Movie. I also will read action books and once in a while if it interests me I will read a classic.

I think what I’m the most proud about last year in journalism was my sleep story that made the front page of one of the issues. I spent about three months working on that story trying to complete interviews and constantly making changes. I also was very proud of my four quiz bowl stories that were published in newsletters and the Prowler.

I am also hoping that I will have another successful year especially now that I am in the advanced group.

Cooper Addington

My name is Cooper Addington, and I’m a sophomore at West Salem. I joined Basic News Writing because I wanted to see what it was like to write for a newspaper.
